Additional Information

I know this question has been asked a billion times, but I haven't really found a clear answer or anything that's very similar to my situation. Over the summer I attended my state's governor's school and I'd like to write about the classes I took and the research I did (well, my group actually created an android app) as i thought that would add to my application and it's something I'd like all of my schools to know. Is that appropriate for the additional information section? also, if so, about how long should my answer be - it's currently 318 words, but I'm sure I could trim it if necessary. Thanks!

Yes, it’s appropriate. Try to trim it to 150 words if you can and make sure the description is focused on you, not the product you produced. The whole point of the common app is to give as clear a picture as possible of who you are.

That sounds quite appropriate for the Additional Info section. That might be a little long, but I’m sure it’s okay if it’s interesting and focuses on you. Sounds like an awesome summer! Good luck!

alright thanks! ill definitely try to trim it as much as i can, didn’t realize it was bad to explain the product, so that should take out like 75 words in itself hahah

I’m not saying its bad, but it is unimportant in this context.
