Additional Material Box?

thanks ben
seems like a lot more complicated process than i thought!

Ben, thanks a lot for your answer.
Hey just a general wondering Does MIT plan to go EA for internationals anytime soon (like next year??).

I don't think so, at least, I've never heard anything about EA for internationals. Besides, it really doesn't affect whether you get in or not.

How come you have never heard anything about EA for intls. Have you not heard of University of Chicago or Georgetown.

"it really doesn't affect whether you get in or not."
I know that too. To get in you have to be good. But I think MIT is a college of that stature which attracts even the students who really cant make it there and because of the attraction to MIT they usually end up not focussing on other applications so if they have a decision early from MIT atleast they'll work on other apps. (I dont know abt other countries but this certainly is the case in India)

In regards to MIT I mean. I haven't ever heard Matt or Ben or Nance or anyone else talk about EA for international students.

well thats the idea...to get them talking about EA for internationals or to atleast know why intls are not allowed EA.

Perhaps it's because international students will make up no more than 5% of the class and they want to see all such applicants before making admissions decisions? Just a wild guess...

Hey Ben.J, Is it necessary for applicants to send in certificates of awards they've won or is it fine just list it down on the app form?

since we're on the topic of intl students...i really wanna know how I compare to other int'l students...does MIT give out info of the admitted students? maybe smth like average SAT scores and stuff...

oh whatever the reason be....I personally would have loved MIT EA.

I think for int'ls it'll be just so much harder. (3x harder from statistics). Sigh.
