Additional Rec Letter?

Recently I went to a ND Info session, and the admissions counselor leading the event said they only ask for one recommendation letter (a teacher rec), which I have uploaded already. But she also said that if you do have an additional rec letter you think will really REALLY add to your application, you should definitely email it. I am trying to choose between two recs (one from my monsignor and one from my youth group leader) to email to highlight my active participation in my parish. I know I should only send one, though the admissions counselor says they read everything you send. I’m leaning towards my monsignor’s rec, however he leaves out I’m a Franciscan LEAD participant and I don’t have as much of a relationship with him as my youth group leader, who mentions I was a LEAD Participant and writes more personally about my participation and attitude in youth group/choir.

In terms of title, I feel like my monsignor rec letter would be better, but I just don’t know. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I go for the Youth Group leader.

It sounds as though your monsignor will echo what’s already in your application, but your youth group leader can speak to your attributes as a person.

“Monsignor” is his title, not yours. It doesn’t help your app.

@bjkmom Thank you! I definitely agree.

You’re welcome!

Good luck!
