Admission Chances

<p>Hey guys,</p>

<p>could you please give me your opinion, whether I will be able to get into the following colleges:</p>

<p>Wharton, NYU Stern, Carnegie Mellon, Babson College, Berkeley Haas, Univ. of Michigan, (Columbia)</p>

<p>Academic details:</p>

<p>I study in Germany at a german public school. My medium of instruction is also German. (should support my SAT score?), so English is basically my second language ...</p>

GPA: 3,7/4,0
Rank: 6th/127</p>

<p>Teacher Recs: outstanding and very positive</p>

<p>ECA:
- state level taekwondo</p>

<li>Student Council President (first foreigner in our entire town !!)</li>

<li><p>Social serivce: supporting students with a foregin background and cultural difficulties</p></li>
<li><p>two week social service at a school for criminals</p></li>
<li><p>Work experience in the investment banking dept. of our local bank</p></li>
<li><p>Work experince at two mid sized jewellery companies in marketing and sales</p></li>

<p>Summer Experiences:
- Northwestern University - AP Calculus in a rigourous 4 week course
- Wharton - LBW Leadership in the Business World (should def. help)</p>

<p>I think you have really really good chances. Your SAT is a little on the low side for some places, but given the fact that English is your second language it’s actually really good. You should take the TOEFL since you not a native English speaker, my friend Monika (also German) had to do that before she could apply to universities here in the US, even though she was a foreign exchange student and almost 100% fluent. Aside from a slight lack in honors/AP classes, everything else looks promising. </p>

hm concerning the AP/honors … i am doing the German Abitur </p>

<p>in this system we have so called majors, mine are: german maths physics english economics</p>

<p>its a pretty tough choice …</p>
