Admission Decisions Class of 2023

got the same message, maybe it doesn’t update till the portal updates

@beejdoop would love to know if someone who received an acceptance can access this! I know most have said it takes another 5 days or so for portal to update.

@Badgersmom That would be great

when I try to log in with my VIP ID I get: This page is not enabled for current user role(s).
Hope thats not a bad thing :frowning:

Just a guess, but it may be that you cannot set-up your dual authentication access until you accept the offer of admissions. The guessing game continues.

we haven’t received anything yet. i used last four of social to find ID and an ID came up but I was afraid to do anything after that

Just tried to login using VIP ID. It said This page is not enabled for current user roles.

I logged in using the VIP ID and set up a password; when I tried to log in further it stated that you have to set up the dual authentication in order to proceed. I found a PDF w/instructions on how to do that, but it requires you to do it with a mobile #. I wasn’t going down that road until my son gets home from school and uses his #. We already got our mail today, and no letter was received, so the waiting game continues. So stressful!!

“Your VIP ID is an eight-digit number that is assigned to you when you are admitted to the university. It is used to log in to Self Service Carolina. Your VIP ID is included on your acceptance letter, given to you if you have applied for financial aid, and available in my.sc.edu.”

I found this on the SC website…let’s all keep our fingers crossed that if a VIP ID was assigned it means you’ve been accepted!! ?

Okay, so mail just came and nothing again. Every other school we applied to has managed communications much better than this.

From those with an acceptance letter, I would love to know what the VIP ID gets you into? After everyone’s help on here, I also was able to get an ID. However, I hit a road block. Thanks so much for everyone’s help. I sure hope this is an encouraging sign to all!

Greenville South Carolina, and nothing in the mail again today. Several other schools have sent an email saying the decision was available, and then he just logs on to see it- followed up with the big paper welcome packet through the mail. That makes so much sense to me. If the decision’s available, it’s available. Why do we have to wait for paper mail? I think Carolina needs to rethink this process, it’s too stressful. My son’s counselor told him the decision was mailed on the 12th.

@2023collbound We signed up with the USPS, and it will email us every morning at 7:30 the mail that is expected. So We got the dreaded no letter again today. This is such a ridiculous process especially now with technology. There shouldn’t be “snail mail” when it comes to something as important as this.

@macusc I never knew you could do that!

@threeforthree We are in Charleston and nothing! Ugh!

I think the VIP ID assignment occurs when you submit your FAFSA.

We have a VIP ID as well and have not submitted FASFA for any school yet. Greenville, SC as well. My wife spoke to the counselor today on the phone and he said that if it didn’t come in tomorrow’s mail to call him back.

Is FAFSA for financial aid? If so, we haven’t submitted any financial aid and got a VIP ID when we put in last 4 digits of SS.

Nothing in PA again…

Nothing here either. The mailman said it would be highly unusual for it to be taking this long if they sent it out on the dates they state…especially since I have gotten multiple items from Charleston since that date… (Family is in SC)

I also wonder why they wouldn’t just release all the website updates in the portal if they knew the mail was so delayed. It is def making some doubt about school organization/administration in my son who previously had this as a top pick…
