@bjo114 I get that same message! Going to the dark side and think it’s a bad sign. Only hope is there is a step between getting VIP ID and going to checklist that would change status. Would be interesting to know if anyone can access that checklist link that has not received their offer letter

Gateway is the off Campus Tech school they shuttle you to. but you are still considered a USC student.
I am hoping maybe the portal will update, but I am not optimistic at this point because most people say portal opens 5 days after letter is sent out so 5 days ago was the 14th and it was Friday?

Hey everyone who is trying to login. Yesterday I tried to login to the link https://cas.auth.sc.edu/cas//login?service=https://my.sc.edu/newstudent/j_spring_cas_security_check, but I received an error message saying I did not have access or something to that effect. I just tried a few minutes ago and it let me in to the checklist but does say your not considered a new Freshman. I believe that you are not a Freshman until you actually accept the admittance offer and enroll. Also, it may take a few days after you are offered admittance to update the many systems at UofSC. Letters of admittance go out via snail mail but you would expect that the University needs to begin setting up prospective students in certain systems in anticipation of them accepting the offer of admittance and not knowing exactly when the student will receive the letter and accept. I could be wrong. Any thoughts?

@pama3115 makes sense - Why would you be a freshman unless you actually accept. Im hoping the fact that we were able to get that far that we are accepted?? Were you accepted and how did you accept??
@bjo114. I am also waiting for the YES packet. My regional admissions person emailed me and said the decision was mailed last Wednesday and if I didn’t receive it by this Friday to call and they would resend.
