From NJ, do you think if I havenāt gotten my letter yet I most likely got deferred?
I think that if you havenāt gotten a letter yet and your portal hasnāt updated then you may have been selected as a review candidate.
Accepted over a month ago. 1490 SAT and 4.3 GPA. OOS. Does anyone know when the honors college notifications will be coming out? Are they via mail like the acceptances??
There are high stat applicants that have not yet received admission letters so we should not be alarmed yet. So many messages about delays indicates that the University has experienced processing problems. All the guessing has been exhausting but after speaking with admissions several times this week including communication with the Executive Director of Admissions, I do believe many will get their letters tomorrow. I wish everyone the best for a positive outcome. I think UofSC has handled the communication when people have called, professionally. They are very courteous and understanding. I have also noticed that the smaller schools who are trying to compete with the UofSCās of the world go out of their way to show how much they appreciate the applicants and are more personal in their approach.

Im thinking at this point no letter and no portal update is NOT a good sign. Can you all who have not gotten a letter yet, if you get one today even if its a rejection or deferment keep us posted on your letters as the rest of us patiently wait??
@bjo114 just checked informed delivery nothing coming from USC today and my portal is still not updated. Did u email them yet? I am emailing today.

I called yesterday and told me mine went out last week. I live in SC how long should this be taking, unless they are lying to us about getting them out when they did. My portal also has not updatedā¦
@bjo114 agreed that there is no way it could be mailed last week if u live in the same state even with the holidays.
Yep same here, nothing from informed delivery! We have called (last week) and emailed our āadmissions counselorā yesterday. Have not heard a single word from him. So unbelievable and unprofessional. Going to call main office? My husband and I are alums of this school and just shocked at how this has been handled. Donāt kid me saying āitās in the mail and it will take a while,ā when we know of people around here on Wednesday getting a letter. Just be truthful and say exactly what is happening.
Its just a way to shut us up and leave them alone āIts in the mailā yeah okā¦ I even asked them yesterday when I called Can you tell me the date it was mailed?? They said ānoā they just know its been mailed
This is the third email sent. They did respond the previous times and we spoke to an admissions person at the main office who looked it up in the system and told us the mail was sent on Friday. Granted, they told us days earlier in an email that it was sent Wednesday of last week. Donāt know what to think.

Yeah originally when I called last Thursday they told me it was sent out earlier that week. When I called yesterday they said it looks like it might have went out Friday. soooooooooo which one is it?? Thats when I asked them about the specific date and they told me they really couldnt tell
The person that posted they received a deferral or further review decision, did your portal change to indicate that or is it the same as it has always been with the checklist of items???
Nothing in the mail again today according to informed mail. There is no way they were mailed out last Friday. I have mail from MN that was mailed out on the 17th getting delivered today. The only exception would be if they mailed it 3rd class, then it could take up to eight days.
