Admission decisions online!

WOO HOO! I'm sorry if another thread was created like this....but I got accepted to the CAS and business school! Wooohooo!

My legacy helped me get in. They even stated it in the letter....

apparently there's another thread about this.....move along people.

They said over 22000 people applied and 1350 were accepted. That's a 6% acceptance rate people.

Good luck.

More than 1350 were accepted. There are 1350 spots in the freshman class, but WashU has about a 30% yield rate, which means 30% of those accepted will attend. This means around 4100 have been accepted, which means an 18.6% acceptance rate.

that's low.... compared to previous rates....

I think if decisions are available online, they're restricted to international applicants. Unless there's a link I don't know about. Would someone post the link that worked for them?

Also, did all you non-minority applicants get your results via snail mail? If so, when is the letter dated, and when was it postmarked?

TIA.

all the decisions have been posted online and a link on the page after u log in gets u thru...

SM

Could you post the link that worked for you?

Thanks.

Thanks. But assuming you hit the "Check to see if your application is complete" link after entering the site, I'm still seeing this:

<< Your file is complete and has been sent to the Admissions Committee for review. Admission Decisions will be mailed according to the schedule below:

So all the decisions are not online. Yet anyway.

There is a new link on the page as soon as you log in; it says something like "Check your admissions decision." It's towards the bottom.

12041987

Thanks very much. When I went to that page, those last two links at the bottom weren't visible...until you tipped me off.

My daughter is from California and just got wait listed. Is this a bad thing?

Not necessarily. There is a slight (albeit very small) chance she could be added to the accepted list. If you go to the front page of CC, there's an ad that claims it can get people of waitlists through some sort off process...if you're interested. Probably by just showing a huge amount of interest.

I'm in! although...apparently on the application I put the college of arts and sciences as my first choice, and engineering as my third because at the time i didnt know what i wanted to do (and now i'm leaning toward engineering)...the letter says that i'm into arts and sciences, but says nothing about engineering...does this mean that i didnt get accepted for it, or do they only condier the first choice, or how does it work? also, is there a way to switch to the engineering school prior to enrolling, or is my only option pretty much just to enroll in arts and sciences and then try to transfer?

D is in for engineering according to the online letter. YAY! :)

She also got an invitation (via snail mail) to visit again in early April with all expenses paid (including airfare) YAY!

Congrats! You should be very proud. :)

bulldogbull, you can switch at anytime before you attend... my adcom was telling me people switch a lot in the summer before WashU starts

what about switching majors?

Thanks, also, how do you switch (is it just as easy as sending an email or making a phone call to the admissions office?)?...and is it guaranteed that i will be able to make the switch, or is it something i need to apply for?

I suppose this is not a glitch? Has someone actually called? because there seems like a huge number of waitlisteds.
