I heard they start reviewing applications in early October ,so If I were to take the October 24th ACT for a final bump to my score, would they re-evaluate my application? Would they re-evaluate every time I send something new?
I believe they take the highest ACT score that is sent to them.
I’ve heard the same ,but I was wondering if they will re-review the application because they never know when I will be done sending scores. So if I send another, will they go back to my finished application?
According to their website, “The exams offered in October are the last opportunity for high school seniors to take the ACT or SAT and have the official scores sent to us before the December 15th application deadline.”
Sorry for being hard to understand. I’ll break it down.
- I finished my application with my ACT score.
- Application reviews begin in October, which means my application could be reviewed before I have a chance to send my latest score.
- When they receive my latest score from the October ACT, will they have to re-evaluate my application in the context of my new score?
Yes they probably will re-evaluate it if it’s a giant improvement like a 28 to a 33. Otherwise, if its small they might not really care.
I second what @dannydevit0 is saying. Also, this early in the game only the very strongest applications are going to get decisions. Last year they didn’t even send out “waitlist” notices till Feb. 2015. Submitting a higher ACT score will help your application if it’s not otherwise an obvious admit, and won’t hurt it if it is. ACT scores will also help determine things like placement in honors college or even some scholarships so it’s always beneficial to send in an improved score. But don’t worry that they’ve made any final decisions on your application before that time - unless it’s good news, of course :).
