Admission Decisions

International…wait listed…financial need killed me…

international with financial need have no place in G’burg!!! :(

got in yesterday with the abraham lincoln scholarship
live in CT

waitlisted …

Son was accepted today. $15,000 Presidential, too. :)

He will decline. Going to Wake Forest instead.

My DS was accepted with the $15,000 Presidential as well. We’re in California. Awful lot of money still…

@DougBetsy: How does your son know about WFU already? I thought they were being mailed this week?

Just a dad?

Did you have a gap? Mine is about 6500.
It is a good package though.

My son was accepted to Gettysburg College today. A very nice merit scholarship accompanied the acceptance letter, which is always a big positive. He was happy to hear he had been admitted and wants to revisit soon to make some final decisions.

My son has received an Army ROTC scholarship.
On Feb 10 the ROTC office at Wake sent an email to Son. The email said that his Wake application looked promising, but it would be stronger if he converted to ED.
So (when school re-opened after the blizzards) Son was finally able to get the GC sig and submit his ED contract to Wake on Feb 20.
He received his ED acceptance to Wake on Feb 27.
It wasn’t until March 1 that Son was able to withdraw the Gettysburg app.
It now appears that Gettysburg had finished with his file before March 1 and the withdrawal was overlooked.

Good luck to everyone! I am attending my 30th College Reunion at Gettysburg in June.

What are the chances of getting off of waitlist? I read last year there were 800+ put on waitlist but it does not say how many were accepted off of it.

Heading to Gettysburg on Sunday and Monday!!

My daughter’s award letter says this scholarship is Gettysburg’s “most competitive”, yet it’s not listed as one of their scholarships on the web site nor does a search for its name turn up any good hits! A mystery… I know there’s an AL Scholarship Day coming up but we live far away and would like to know more about it before we decide whether or not to make the trip. Of course we know the size of the scholarship, but does anyone know if being an Abraham Lincoln Scholar carries any other perks or privileges?

Oh, Geez, why am I still waiting for a decision?
I emailed them 2 days ago asking about the final RD decision but no reply from the admission office yet… I don’t think it’s rolling by no means but…did they just ignore my app with no announcement?

it seems I almost got killed since most positive results already came out

I really loved Gettysburg…
We are down to our final 3…
This is such a hard decision…
Anyone out there with any input for pros or cons for Gettys???

Did anyone decide on Gettysburg yet?

My daughter and I visited Gettysburg 3 and 4 years ago…it was one of my favorites…a nice homelike cozy school. On thing I didn’t like about Gettysburg is that they don’t offer shuttles to malls, etc…You do pay a nice sum for the shuttle to the Harrisburg train station…She ultimately chose another college.

Anyone going to admitted students day on April 17?

First post. We are. My daughter was accepted ED and we will be attending so hopefully she can meet some of the other kids in the class of '14.

Where are you guys from we are from Long Island…I will have a son attending.
