hi i was just wondering, im a junior and i really really want to go to UPenn. I heard that applying early decision gives you a better chance of getting in, and i plan to do that. However, I’m going to require financial aid as my family’s income is very low. If i apply early decision and make it, will the school’s financial aid be sufficient to cover the expenses? And what happens if i get accepted but i don’t get enough financial aid? any answers would be appreciated please

Oh man, here comes the next wave of Penn wanabees for 2011. Doesn't it feel like we were just in there shoes a couple of short months ago.

Time flies when you worry.

Does it really help the chances of people with lower stats if they apply ED. Many of the CC people apply ED with 2100 or 2200 SAT scores because they feel that is a low score to get them in. What about the people who score 1700-1900? Will they even be considered ED because some many people who could apply RD apply ED?

Honestly, applying ED does increase your chances a lot, but with applications to Penn surging up every year (as at all other prestigious schools nationwide, 2006 was a crazy application year, the kids went psycho) it will be harder to get in ED next year since there will probably be an increase in ED applications, which would decrease the acceptance percentage since the same number of applicants would be accepted as last year. I'd say about 21% of ED apps will be accepted. And applying to Penn with a 1700-1800 SAT will hurt; unless to have something else in your application that offsets that low score (Valedictorian, research, etc) you don't stand a chance. But anything is possible, as we have all seen, and admission is random. Don't Stop Believin', (Hold on to that feelin'!!!!!!)

thanks....
