Admission help

hey guys! I was wondering if anyone knew what happens when you apply for Plan II as the first choice, Dean's scholar as second choice, and not get into either of the programs. Would your application be transferred to just a regular freshman application, or would they treat the application as if you didn't even apply? (If it helps at all, I live in Texas and I am in the top 10% for sure).

Oh, and if I didn't get into either of the programs, would I be able to choose liberal arts honor program, or just be a regular freshman?

hello? anyone...?

My recollection is that on your application for admission, you apply for two majors, a first choice and a second choice. My understanding is that Plan II is a major but Dean's Scholars definitely is not, so it wouldn't be in that "what major?" section of your application for admission.

If you are not accepted into either of your top two choices of a major, you can still be accepted into UT. Starting this fall, you would be placed in the School of Undergraduate Studies.

I believe you can apply to all of the honors programs you want to, as honors applications, separately from the admissions application.

Thanks! I was starting to get really confused, but you cleared it up!

Someone posted on here once that he had applied to every honors program. Hmmm... Business Honors, Engineering Honors, Plan II, Liberal Arts Honors, Deans Scholars....

Maybe he was kidding.
