Admission Id

Hi,

Where do I get the Admission ID needed to check my application status for Carnegie Mellon University

they mail it to you

Your Admissions ID # is given to you in the letter CMU mails out after you apply. ("Thank you for submitting an application for admission....") Enclosed with that letter is a separate sheet with instructions for using the on-line "Where am I in the process?" If you haven't received your letter yet or have misplaced it, try calling the Admissions office. I have found the staff there to be quite helpful.

they dont give admission id #'s over the phone. you have to fax a paper including name, birthday, ss# and they will fax you back the number within 48 hours.

they also try to have applicants get their decisions in the mail before they post it online so they wont post it online for a few days after they send out a decision.

its been like over a month since i submitted my application and i have got no communication from CMU..

mishra : I live near delhi and I got my receipt letter today..... you should be receiving soon....:)

Hey, fellow RDers!

Do any of you know when we find out our decisions? I heard March 15th but I'm not sure if that's accurate.

gosh i hope you're right...however i had a couple of friends who got into CMU last year, and they both heard back at the end of march (i think it was the 28th or 29th).

They sent out letters on March 27 last year and decisions were posted online after three days....

btw, what does "folder pulled committee read" mean on the admission status site? Does that mean they have already made the decision?

Alright, thakns ravi.

I think "folder pulled committee read" just means that they've taken an initial glance at your app. I think they'll read your file at least one more time, so I'm pretty sure they haven't made the decision yet.

hmmm...... makes sense athlonmj.... thanx buddy!!!! :)

Have you sent financial aid form? My status page says "Overnight financial aid" in materials received. Is it same?

Also, if you have submitted FAFSA via net and chose CMU as one of the recipients.... Do you have to sumbit a paper copy of FAFSA to their financial aid dept? The letter in the application receipt package said something like that.... but I'm not sure

This just in.

I talked to CMU and they said that they start mailing decisions on March 20/21 =)

And no, I haven't submitted Finaid stuff yet.
