So i applied to albany as a transfer, i have completed my first semester in a college and have gotten a 3.3 gpa. the schools admissions office has told me many times that they will based their admission on my first year of college, when i got home yesterday i got a letter saying i was denied and if i wish to be consider as a spring 2011 applicant, they can do that. what is this madness...

please leave any thoughts and comments

If transferring during your freshman year, college admissions still take your high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores into account. In addition, your current gpa at college, transfer essay, and college professor recommendations get factored in.

If transferring during or after your sophomore year, your high school information becomes less important while your college gpa and professor recommendations become more important.

i understand that but ive called the admission office numerous times and they have all told me the same that they will wait for my seond semester grade before making any decisions.
