Admission into Texas State and the University of Texas

Hello!

I am interested in applying to Texas State University and the University of Texas in Austin’s graduate programs for Early Childhood Education: Curriculum and Instruction. I have three professors already lined up to give me reference letters and I have yet to take the GRE for UT, but I was wondering what my chances were of getting in.

I have a 3.4 GPA in my upper undergraduate work (Early Childhood Education).
I am attending the University of Alabama with a degree in ECE and a minor in English.
I have three professors (and one that is an adviser) giving me recommendations.

What are the chances of me getting into these institutions?

UT-Austin is a flagship university and it’s very hard to get into, depending on the graduate program you’re looking at. Texas State is a lot easier to get into. It’s only 30 minutes away, so it’s considered a safety school for UT “throwbacks.” A lot of UT rejects end up at Texas State and do very well.
