I got in on early decision too! I am so excited!

congrats you guys!
i am applying regular decision and havent written my essay yet. could you guys please help.
who should i write the leadership essay on?
i thought of gandhi. that would be easy for me as i am indian and know a lot about him but everyone told me that its too much of a cliche. but then i thought that maybe everyone is thinking that its a cliche and not writing on him so maybe i could write on him…i really confused and the deadline is just around the corner!
also i have never written an analytical essay because in the indian system we dont do that kind of stuff so could you guys tell me how exactly you go about it? i did google it but i want to know if i could write in first person and how personal can i make it?
wow so many questions!

but seriously anybody’s help will be greatly appreciated.

This question is for Brabble, who reported getting rejected by CMC but accepted by Chicago. How is this possible? Chicago has non-binding EA, but to my knowledge CMC only has binding ED. How were you able to apply to CMC while also applying to Chicago?

One can typically apply EA and ED binding. If one is accepted ED, one must notify other schools that one’s application is withdrawn from those schools. Some schools are single choice EA (SCEA) such as Stanford. That precludes one from applying EA or ED elsewhere.

To delphi: I went to an information session and matt burris said not to write about gandhi and god… XD sorry if this is such late notice!

congrats, 2014 :)

congrats everyone. I applied through regular decision and I just realized that I made this typo in my supplemental essay “He makes children believe it is possible to be for them to help make a difference in the world.”
I do not know how this happened, I think I submitted the wrong version. Do you think the admissions officers at CMC would just throw away my application in the trash?

One typo is alright. Don’t worry (:

Thanks that is such a relief. The thing that sucked most was that I actually editted it out but sent a wrong version. Hopefully the admissions office people will be kind and I feel they won’t be as callous as a large school that recieves like 10,000 applicants. So if I get rejected I can’t blame that typo, too bad. once again good job guys!
