We still haven’t heard from Jan 30 on campus! But yesterday her portal finally said “received” at audition instead of “see email invitation” LOL progress! :))
I auditioned at Chicago Unifieds and am still waiting.
Yay, guys! If you haven’t heard, you’re still in it!! :-bd
I sure hope that’s the case!!
has anyone attempted to call and ask when we should expect to hear?
My D got a merit scholarship offer for out of state students today. Does that mean no for a BFA, since BFA’s will get in-state tuition? Five weeks since her audition and haven’t heard yes or no. They said it would be 10 days to 2 weeks for a decision. And the mail was late today, adding to the torture.
You are in it until you hear otherwise!! Congrats on the merit scholarship…my son got both the instate tuition AND a merit scholarship…(we were confused at first, too) Fingers crossed that you hear back soon about a BFA acceptance!!
My daughter got the same letter today about the merit scholarship award, but nothing about an MT decision. Sigh …
I hope you all hear back soon! I know the waiting is terrible. If you have any questions about the program I’d be happy to help. I’m a freshman
Does Montclair have a wait list? Or just “yes” or “no” in the mail.
In the past they did have a WL.
@Calliene
Thank you.
My D called today and was basically told “This is normal, you’ll hear soon, keep waiting.” So we will.
@emdpraze, who did you talk to? If it was the general college admissions department, you may want to try someone in the MT department. We found that at most schools, there is a disconnect between general admissions and the process of being accepted into an auditioned major. Especially at very large schools.
@Calliene It was someone in the Theatre and Dance department. My D had been told at her Feb. 13 audition that they would be notified in 10 days - 2 weeks, so she called just in case maybe a letter had gotten lost in the mail. But she was told that she just needed to wait. So we are.
Ugh, the waiting is torture, but sounds like you called the right place. Seems in the past more have heard from Montclair by now. But this year is the first year that people knew going in that they are offering in state tuition to MT’s, so an increase in applications may have really stretched the department. I hope you hear soon!
Nothing in the mail yet. Sigh.
Somewhat comforting to know we aren’t the only ones still waiting.
@Fotokat We’re right there with you!
So are we.
