Admission officers visit my high school and they talk to kids who signed up for the meeting about the school, what they look for in an application, and they are available to answer any questions people have. for your safety school, my college advisor says, it is critical to go to these meetings because it shows interest in their school, and if you dont go, they will probably reject you. however, these schools that ive met with have no record of me being at the meeting, because unlike other schools, they dont let you write down your name to show that you attended the meeting. on our naviance website there is the email address of the rep from each school. should i send them an email saying i visited their school, or is that over the top? or can i ask them a question, implying that i forgot to ask it at a meeting, so they know i was there (but in an indirect way)? thanks!

Who is you college advisor? Because this seems like quite an exaggeration

You can always send an email to the college rep after the visit to your school, saying something like, “I really liked meeting you at (my Highschool) yesterday. I just wanted to follow up on my question about XYZ…”

That way the rep will know you were at the session and make a notation on your file if it is indeed important to the college; if not, then it really doesn’t matter and you wasted 5 minutes sending an email.

my school is the same with these meetings… and who cares?

people worry WAY to much about every little detail in the college process. PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME YOU ONLY ATTENDED THE MEETING IN AN ATTEMPT TO BOOST YOUR CHANCES

It was a mix of both. I wanted to see what the meetings were like, and see if they were useful enough to go to others. our college advisor says that you must go to a school that is their safety because they will think u applied because the school is a throw in. so i want them to know that i went

I think your college advisor has a bloated idea of “Tufts Syndrome”

so what are you saying, that it doesnt matter at all if they know im there or not?

Pretty much yeah
