Admission, Racism, and Invesment Banking

Hi,

I was wondering:

What is a good GPA, SAT, ACT to shoot for to get into Vandy. I know I need to do the best, but realistically, what should I aim for?

Is it true that there is a lot of racism at vanderbilt? I’ve heard rumors, so I was wondering if anyone could confirm or dismiss this (I’m asian indian btw)?

Do investment banks recruit here? I’m actually going premed, but I’m just wondering because this is a big factor since IB is my second favorite option

According to this link, yes.

There is as much racism at Vanderbilt as there is at Yale. I'll let you figure out how much that is.

So why of all the possibilities out there are your 2 favorite non-related options medical school and ib?...because they would sound relatively impressive for you to tell other people? or because they have high salaries? or is it because you happen to "randomly" enjoy those two fields? Do you even have the slightest clue what being an i-banker entails?

At least the OP has some vague notion of what he'd like to do, even if it may appear to be for superficial reasons. Four years at a tough academic environment like Vanderbilt will quickly clarify anybody's notions of what they want to be and, more importantly, what they are capable of being.

^Well said.
