Admission Rate for Fall '09

Does anyone have any clue what the admission rate was for this year? It dropped from 80% to 70% and what is it now? I heard somewhere that it dropped 20%, making it 50% this year, while the SAT scores and GPA raised pretty significantly.

Found some sites:

For California freshmen, the admit rate for UCSC was 63.7% for Fall 2009, down from 74.3% for Fall 2008 and 82.8% for Fall 2007:

http://www.ucop.edu/news/factsheets/2009/fall_2009_admissions_table_4.pdf

These figures don’t include OOS/International applicants; those may shift the numbers slightly, but likely won’t impact the trend.

it seems like UCSC is getting more competitive

All UCs are getting more competitive because of the budget cuts. It’s just that schools such as UCI, UCD, and UCSC seem to be the schools that are the most affected.

is ucsc going to continue getting more competitive after next year
