Hey guys I’m a senior right now and for my fall semester I got a D in pre cal, I was just accepted into UCLA and I had to report it. I’m really scared and nervous that my admission will be rescind. I wrote to them about it but I’m still nervous. I still have my spring semester to make it up and do better but idk if it will be good enough. My fall report card was 1 D, 1B and then the rest A’s. I already met the math requirements but I’m still scared. Has anyone experienced this before ? And if so what happens in ur situation
UC’s are not too forgiving with D’s or F’s Senior year and it does not matter if you meet the Math requirements you are expected to maintain a 3.0 unweighted GPA, no more than C’s and no D’s or F’s Senior year. Hopefully they will wait until your final grade at year’s end before they make the decision.
My lausd un weighted gpa is 3.6 as of right now and my uc gpa on my transcript is 3.9. Hopefully they wait.
While you are waiting for their decision, do not pull your other applications/acceptances.
It’s good that you reported it early. The earlier you report it, the more you can do about it. Hopefully they’ll give you a provisional contract (i.e. something like “get a B’s or better in all your classes in spring semester”)
I also got accepted in UCSB and I emailed there admissions about my D and they told me “Thank you for notifying us of your low grade in Pre-Calculus. Your application and senior year grades have been reviewed. Given your strong academic history, we are able to waive your low grade in Pre-Calculus as long as you complete the rest of your courses with grades of C or better. Please know that any additional grade below a C could negatively affect your admission status in the future. If you do receive a grade lower than a C in any other course, please notify us immediately”. So hopefully Ucla does the same
UPDATE: in my portal it says
We received your recent communication regarding changes to your academic information and are currently reviewing your record. Upon completion, we will contact you to inform you of any status changes.
UPDATE: I got a revised contract I’m still going to UCLA woo
hi! if you don’t mind, may i ask what you put for the explanation?
i dropped spanish 3 first semester and will be dropped from it this semester, i’m worried about how reporting these changes will affect my admission.
(i have 4.0 otherwise + this class is not an a-g requirement for me)
@travina what did they say exactly?
