Hi! I am looking int Williams College, and so far have found it to be ranked as the No.1 Liberal Arts College, however on College Confidential the reported SAT stats for admission are: 1310 - 1530 (1600) & ACT: 29 - 34 (36)

Compared to other admission stats these seem quite low, so I am guessing this information is outdated?

I was wondering if some admitted students could share their stats to have a better overview?

google “Williams College CDS”. The CDS has the the middle 50-percentile for SAT/ACT. I think the numbers you state are in the ballpark for Williams.

For what it’s worth, my nephew was told by admissions when he initially met with them this past summer that his score of 32 was low and the one potential issue with his application. He got the score up before actually applying…

My D had the same experience in her legacy interview this summer, 31 ACT was low - should try to get it to 34. However, the interviewer was very clear that just getting the higher scores would not lead to automatic admission and he also indicated that other factors (i.e. a very strong arts supplement in my D’s case) could mitigate the lower scores.

Also, not sure how you think that 1530 (out of 1600) and 34 (out of 36) are “low” for the top 25% percentile. Both are at 99% percentile nationally. There’s not that much higher to go.

Thank you all. Since I am an International Student, I am doing all of the research via different websites such as this one.

The information I posted when I started this thread, I found in College ****:

I had not realized that the Writing was “Not Reported”, and was confused by the: 1310 - 1530 (1600) number, without realizing it meant that it was not out of 2400 as it usually is. It makes sense they are highly selective if they are constantly ranked as the No. 1 Liberal Arts College so this had me confused. I am just starting to get acquainted with all of the admission requirements for colleges in the US, and it is the first time I have encountered a college that is only taking two out of the three SAT areas into account for their admissions. I imagine there are many more out there, but it was a first for me, so thank you all for your help!

Apparently the link was blocked by this site, but the information I found was in
College-p r o w l e r (without the hyphen or separation between letters)

Which is one of the 8 different sites that I am using for my research. :)
