MomOfWildChild - Oh, sorry, I misread your post. So you guys didn't find out through OneStart? Did it come in the mail instead?

Dcho - Honestly, I didn't like the vibe I was getting at Michigan. I visited the campus, I've lived here for 18 years. The dorms were crappy, the food was crappy, and the people were stuck up "Why didn't I get into an ivy league gosh how did I end up here" type. It's a great education, but the majority of the classes there are taught by people other than professors, ex. other students.

Indiana is more of my type of people. Partiers, passionate about sports, always have a good time, and they are just as strong as Michigan in Business and Sport Management, the two fields i'm interested in. I also probably won't get into Michigan, so it's nice to have a safety.

Well I'm pretty mad with them right now. I sent in my scores three weeks ago, and decided to call up today to see what's going on. I end up finding out that they didn't have my ACT writing score. So I ended up telling them when I took it, and they told me it would be 3-5weeks. Arrrgh, well the good thing is that I can send in my senior grades which are looking good, and possibly a better ACT when I get my scores back in two weeks.

I called about my son's application status because he got a letter about his transcript not arriving. The Admissions Office told me that as of early October, they have seen a HUGE increase in their applications (almost double) over last year-so it is taking longer to log everything in.

I'm still upset. Haven't heard a thing, everything was in 10/5. Michigan State received everything 10/24, and I got my acceptance today. ARGH! The wait is KILLING me, and I can't visit until I get my acceptance letter my parents say.

Eh ur lucky though, u live in midwest! i live all the way on the west coast, its hard to vist iUB cuz i stil got school and im busy with my friggin extracurricular duties and other stuff. man i might visit during winter break though maybe if time allows so if u get ur acceptance and u do visit IUB post input please!! :)

S. applied end of September, admitted 10/27, received admissions packet 11/16 which included a $4000 IU faculty award. Still waiting to hear from U-Michigan, his first choice.

Admissions said they've been having lots of technical problems with OneStart. Very unreliable so just call them directly. They'll tell you everything over the phone.

GoBlueAlumMom - Congrats on your son's acceptance and his scholarship! UMich is my first choice as well, but it's nice to know that a quality school like Indiana has accepted me, and offered me a scholarship too. Ann Arbor and Bloomington are very similar college towns with great experiences.

For those of you awaiting news from the Admissions Office-my son got an e-mail today congratulating him on his acceptance to IU-Bloomington. The e-mail indicated that he would get a package in the mail with a notification letter and housing information in 3 to 4 weeks.

"Congratulations! We are pleased to notify you that you are eligible for admission to Indiana University to begin fall 2006."

yeyyyyy, I GOT THE EMAIL TODAY! I'M SO FREAKN HAPPY!!!! IU is not my first choice but it's definitely up there!!! being accepted is sooo rewarding! good luck to all of you

oh yeah and thank you sooooo SOOO MUCH MOMOFWILDCHILD, if it weren't for you i would've never looked at IU b/c i didnt know anything about it! btw... all my stuff got there like november 1st

Jkazoo-My son submitted his online aplication Labor Day weekend. His transcript was mailed by his high school some time between 10/7 and 10/11 (guidance was a little slow). When I called IU to check status in late October, I was told that the number of applications filed relatively early had almost doubled over last year's number as of early October and that they were having delays in processing due to the volume.

It's interesting what some positive press will do. IU being named the hottest big state school by Newsweek in August has got to be playing a part in the double # of apps. We're OOS and a lot of kids from our area have been talking about the school, especially the ones (like my S.) that want an alternative to Michigan State.

I got into IU today, but I am concerned about Kelley. I currently have a 3.75(unweighted) and a 1350 on my SATs. When I called they told me that if your school ranks then you must be in top ten percent, the 3.5 is only for those whose school does not rank. I am not ranked in the top 10% of my class. So I guess that means I won't be a direct admit?
