Admission to German Universities

Is it possible to get admitted to a German University like the University of Stuttgart with literally 0 hours of learning German? Im planning to learn the language at the University itself once I know that I'm accepted....and yes, I do know that German proficiency is an admission requirement, but are there exceptions... Please let me know what you think..

How do you propose to learn the language sufficiently between admission and matriculation to be able to complete the coursework in German? German is not an easy language! If you really want to attend university in Germany, don’t wait until you’re accepted to start learning the language.

Also, why do you want to go to Germany for university with no German experience? Don’t get me wrong - I love it here in Germany - but it seems like a pretty large leap.

Some non-English-speaking countries have English-speaking universities, but I don’t think Germany does? I’m assuming you’re talking about German-speaking universities anyway.

I’m a native English speaker taking classes at an American university, and sometimes I still can’t understand my professors! I don’t think it’s a good idea, and I don’t think they’d admit you in the first place (why would they make an exception for you?). But at English-speaking universities (or whatever else you’re fluent in) you can take lots of German classes, study abroad in Germany, and even go to graduate school there if you’ve become fluent by then.

Also, if you’re not a European citizen it’s probably going to be difficult to get financial aid at their colleges.

^ Graduate school in Germany also might not be the best option, since the system is set up fairly differently from the US, but that’s a whole other can of worms…
