Admission to NAPS

Could someone that has been accepted to or has attended the Naval Academy Preparatory School please post a list of academic and extracurricular achievements (such as grades, test scores, athletics, clubs, extracurricular positions, etc.)? My dream is to attend the U.S. Naval Academy in three years, and although I feel as if I couldn't get into the Naval Academy on what I have done in high school, so far, I want to see if there's a chance that I could be selected for NAPS. Thank you very much.

Robert- have posted this several times, abet quite awhile ago-
but in the end it does not matter what others score, achieve, etc-
it matters what you do.

Your goal should be on putting your effort into doing the best that YOU can do.
the items that should be in your bucket list:
-grades: work hard, study hard, get the best grades you can
-SATs: take a review course if you can; definatley take practice tests. Focus on math [algebra and geometry]- math scores are the easiest to improve. Read challenging books -look up the defination of words you don’t know- that is the way to move your verbal scores.
-leadership: pick an activity you enjoy and get involved. Look for leadership opportunites and make a difference
-sports: get on a team sport, get in shape, stay in shape.
-ECAs: you don’t need a plethra- just one or 2, over several years, that you are involed with. Be an active player as opposed to a passive participant.
-work extra-hard in your 11th grade math and english classes- these are the teachers that will be writing your letters of recommendation.

if you have given this 100% of your effort, then that is all you can do.
just be sure that it is 100%.
Every day.

there is a saying that if you meet a bear in the woods, you don’t have to be the fastest runner in the group- you just have to be faster than the last guy.

that is NOT usna.
You need to strive to be the fastest guy and outrun everyone else in the pack, and you need to do this as a matter of course. It sounds like you have 3 years left to do this- so make each of those 1095 days count!

Best of luck!
