I’m planning on doing an upcoming on-line admissions chat for one of my top picks. Has anyone done one before? What are they like? What types of questions should I ask? Do you know if schools keep track of who “attends” each chat, like for open houses and campus visits?
I’m kinda nervous that I’ll be the only person in the chatroom, other than the admissions officers. Eep!

You should definitely do the chats as it gives you an opportunity to ask 'burning' questions live. There are also current students in the chat that can give you their first hand thoughts and experiences.

I know that you must log in for the chat, but I can not tellyou for sure if they keep "track' of people signing up for the chat.

I was just e-mailed an invititation for an admissions chat for Colgate. Colgate University has sending me a lot of stuff recently and I'm not sure what to make of that. It's not on my college list and I have absolutely no interest in them. Should I still pop in there? What if the questions I'm really "burning" to ask are about heavy drinking scene that I've heard runs the school? Should I still participate in the admissions chat when everything I've heard about the school has been negative.

Maybe phrase it as "What is the drinking policy at Colgate, and do students generally abide by it?"
