@dreamed I emailed them to change my major. My status changed from evaluation to applicant.
@soyunchico - That could be due to major change declaration. They would have to go back to reprocess the application from start and probably assign it to different group to evaluate your app.
Once you are admitted, you can change your major even later. I know someone who changed their major right before admittance fee payment, of course they qualified for the new major. Make sense?!
@dreamed yes it does, thank you. I know I could change my major later but I am paranoid about everything
@soyunchico - hah, no worries. I know the feeling.
My D’s status is at Evaluation as well. Her app’s and documents are all submitted to all the schools on her list. So far she’s been accepted to one, still waiting on all the others. Now that she has one she is more anxious about the other 4 schools. Kind of hate that these will be so spread out. For the schools she’s been accepted to she received an email the day after the envelope showed up in the mail. One of her other schools is saying next week they are mailing out the first round of acceptance letters. Its funny, each day she goes the mailbox to see if there is an envelope. I keep telling her to check her online accounts first.
@dcolosi - OSU updates the online account first. Good Luck to her!
@dcolosi I’m the same way. I have already heard back from three of my schools but won’t hear from them all until Febuarary!
@soyunchico & @dcolosi - It’s great to know early on, then one can make better decisions. Mind if I ask which schools? GL on the rest!
@dreamed is that to me or them?
@soyunchico - To you and @dcolosi - I asked out of curiosity. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing, I understand (not being sarcastic). I could share this with some of my friends who are applying this year. That’s all.
@dreamed my D has an acceptance from Kentucky. Still waiting on IU, MSU, OSU and Minnesota. We looked at UGA but decided not to apply. We visited some other schools but took them off the list after having visited them. She’s basically looked at Big 10 and a few SEC schools.
@dcolosi - Thank you for sharing.
I really like big schools but have liked a few small schools. The two I’m really considering that I have been accepted to are Pitt and Alabama. The ones I like that I’ve applied to are UMiami an de Ohio state(I’ve applied to others but these are ones I like slightly more). I still need to write the honors essay for Kentucky. @dcolosi your daughter and I looked at similar schools, which ones are her favorite? @dreamed
@soyunchico - Thanks for sharing. Good Luck !
IU is instate for us but she also really liked MSU and OSU. OSU we felt was a little bit of a stretch for her, okay on GPA but just a bit low on SAT/ACT. She liked Kentucky enough to put it on her list but I think it ultimately will come down between IU, MSU and OSU. She really likes the bigger campus. We really like Butler but to small for her and too close to home. If she decides on OOS then it will come down to affordability so qualifying for scholarships will be key for any OOS school.
@dcolosi I know it’s a stretch but I am really trying for the full tuition scholarship at Kentucky. I didn’t type it but Butler is one of my top choices as well. Butler is definitely the smallest of all my schools and probably going to be very expensive.
@dreamed are you a senior or a college freshman or neither?
@soyunchico - College Freshman @ OSU main campus
@dreamed how do you like it?
@soyunchico - Couldn’t complain, loving it. Course load is heavy but I am able to manage it so far.
