so non-international students won’t get an email, only by mail?

That should be correct.

Including international students living in the U.S. …I should’ve just put my home address back home, then I would get an e-mail…

It wouldn’t make a huge difference. If you have a US address, your decision should get to you in a timely manner. Internationals get emails because otherwise, it would take a good half month to get to some places.

Yes, but I quite dislike finding these type of mails already opened and placed on my desk; I’d rather be the first one to know before my parents and…e-mail passwords are just fine :)

When is Georgetown sending out annoucements, and what method (mail)?

@collegesgirl: We don’t know when but speculation places it anywhere between now and April 1st. No one is able to definitely narrow that down at this moment. US (domestic) applicants and internationals with an address in the US will receive their decisions through snail mail. All other internationals will be notified by email.

a thread of last year’s notification date said it was march 28

Are you sure? March 28 2009 was a Saturday. I think the decisions were send out Friday and that they began streaming into mailboxes on Saturday. Which would place this year’s decisions (if they stick to the schedule) on 03/26.

i dont know if its accurate but thats what the thread said. and yeah your logic seems to be valid.

Hmm alot of decisions on March 27th…that Saturday is either going to be a good one or a sad one ^_^

so is it 3/26 or 3/27?

Either one. Seeing they are through snail mails, the dates will differ depending on how close you live, right?

anyone already getting student mail that hasn’t gotten accepted/rejected yet? I still haven’t heard anything but today I began to receive public safety alerts and other student emails…

I just finished reading this thread and my heart fell to my feet. But at least I can look forward to getting my first rejection letter by this weekend. Ah well. At least I know where I’m going already, so the blow will be softened (just a little).

And Georgetown was my favorite school too. :(

@GTown2014: I guess that could be taken as a good sign.

what would be a competitive ACT score would be for gtown?

ksarmand- why do you already think you’re rejected?? Is there something I’m missing???

I think seeing people say they’ve started to recieve student emails and she has not. I kind of had the same reaction, and my son has also recieved no emails or safety alerts. I am hoping perhaps they haven’t entered all the decisions inot the system.

@passiongirl: My essay was terrible. The admissions committee would have to be stoned to admit me. I know when I write rubbish, and trust me. I WROTE R U B B I S H.

(I just had to put that in caps. Sorry.)

@mattb2jp: No, it’s not the emails. I’ve been expecting a rejection since I submitted my application, really. :o

@Gtown14 can you elaborate on the PSA e-mails and what they said? Do you think everyone who got in received them this week?

Edit: Nevermind I get it - must just be alerts that go out to all Georgetown students. That’s pretty flukey though; I’ve never heard of admitted students who haven’t deposited yet receiving updates on campus safety, especially before receiving a letter of admission. Must be a (second!) mistake on Gtown’s part?
