<p>Depends. Some schools have short answer questions, as well as a longer essay question. You really need to look carefully at the specific applications and the instructions that they provide.</p>

<p>They should be pretty concise though. Not overly long, but still not overly short. It just depends on what school you're applying to.</p>

<p>My dad gives me the general advice of:
Expand upon each thought until others can visualize it, but not as well as you visualize it.</p>

<p>Maybe it can help you? I assume that most schools give you a length... Read that bit carefully.</p>
