what kind of questions do they ask during the admissions interview? i live in tucson, AZ so do you think id be able to get an interview way out here? i believe that the interview could be the thing that sets me apart from the rest of the applicants who have similar numbers because it gives me a chance to let my personality show in person. the interview should be a pretty important part for the review committee in admissions decisions, right? thanks for your input!

Not really - alumni do the interview. It helps only in that you can explain a part of yourself that didn't appear on the application. They will ask you why you chose Princeton, what you want to do there, or talk to you about their experience at Princeton.

Not that having an alumni is bad by any means; but admissions officers obviously trust themselves to evaluate applicants much more so than an alum who interviews 5-10 kids tops per year.

I'm pretty sure admissions officers do not do interviews...but I could be wrong.

But don't underestimate the power of an interview. A GREAT interview can certainly help your application, while a BAD interview can certainly hurt it. I know that sounds obvious, but I feel it needs mentioning.
