Admissions officers or Stanford students: I need essay feedback

Hey guys,

I just applied REA to Stanford for the class of 2025. Stanford has been my dream school for years and I feel it is a perfect fit for me. Where I live, I don’t have connections with anyone who can REALLY give me good feedback on my essays, so I’ve pretty much wrote these without help. I’m starting to get stressed because I still haven’t heard from Stanford on an interview. Can someone please give me feedback on my essays?

CC is not an essay review service-----ask a trusted adult, such as an English teacher. I would strongly recommend against sending your essays to a random person on the internet----there’s nothing stopping them from passing your essays off as their own.

Interviews are solely based on availability, NOT on the strength of your application. As you’ve already submitted your application, nothing you do now will really change your decision-----just make sure to have your other applications ready and hope for the best!

Writing your own essay is good advice. I’ve had admission staff tell me that they can tell when an older person edits an essay, the phrasing and word choice give it away.

Have a classmate read your essay and see if they think of you when they read it. They should.

Not a good idea to have other students read your essay.

Best to ask an English teacher.

Your post says you have already applied; if so, what is the purpose of getting essay feedback?

I believe that the OP is wondering why she has not been contacted for an interview.

I have read & critiqued one of OP’s essays.
