Got an email today asking me and my family to join AU at an admissions reception in Boston (we live in Maine) in mid April. All it really mentions is light refreshments… anyone (current students?) know what these are like and if there is any value in travelling down, especially since I am not sure whether I will attend AU or not. On that note, any admitted students get the same email and will yu be going to Boston (or wherever else they’re being held?) Just wondering…

yeah i got invited to one in princeton but i dont think i'll go, although i do plan on attending american. i just feel like it would be a waste of time.

I was invited, and plan on attending. I'm having difficulty RSVP-ing, the student portal does not list the Boston reception on its list of events.

I've decided not to go (I have driver's ed still that weekend... yesss.. I love being a senior that doesnt have her license! NOT) But anyway, if there is anything noteworthy/worthwhile/interesting, maybe let us know just for the sake of information and curiousity?

My daughter received the information about both Freshman Day, on 4/13 and the A Day In The Life program. Of the two, which would be most useful to attend? From what we read, Freshman Day sounds a little bit like a rehash of Preview Day, which she had previously attended. If I'm not mistaken, the "..Day in the Life.." involves being able to sit in on a class, which she hasn't done before, so she's leaning toward going to that. However, I'd hate for her to have to miss out on Freshman Day if there is something particularly worthwhile going on then.
