And admissions counselors from queens and Oswego said I have a pretty good shot. I did speak to ubs counselor she said that I would have to go to cc first
It is rare that any school is going to tell you that you do not have a chance to be admitted,
if a school accepts 15%, this means that they deny/waitlist 85%. these are not good odds
for a school to be a match, your grades and range should be within the middle fifty
plattsburgh is a solid math for gpa and SAT scores
Brockport math for SAT Reach for GPA
Oswego Match for SAT reach for GPA
for the school to be a safety you need to be above the 75th percent
Did you make up the algebra and geometry so that you will be on track to graduate.
It looks as if you are on track to get an advanced regents diploma
With the june regents being cancelled
as long as you pass US History, Al2/Trig and your foreign language class, you will be exempt from the US History, AL2 and Lote Exams and will complete the testing requirements for an advanced regents diploma
Yes I didn’t make up the semesters but I passed the class overall because I passed both regents with a 75 and I’m in my third year of Italian. I’m on pace to get a 93 cumulative this term. So my list is like this
Safeties: Adirondack, broome csi
Matches: fredonia Potsdam brockport and Plattsburgh
Reaches: queens Oswego city college @sybbie719
Brockport I think is a match because they take weighted gpas and there average gpa is a 85 according to the cds and my regional admission counselor so I think that’s a match
No the common data set is what percentage of the students make up the accepted class no the percentage accepted within that gpa range @sybbie719 so for example let’s say Oswego has 20 percent for 2.5-2.9 students in that gpa range make up 1/5 of the admitted class
@sybbie719 i got a 95 on the global regents do you think my list is accurate? Should I add schools. Is csi a safety? Any recommendations on any other schools?
I would also look at Plattsburg , they have a decent CS program, lots of ind attention and IIRC they are investing in that major.
Does anyone know if my list is realistic any recommendations?
Plattsburgh should be a solid chance for you, I think UB is a stretch.
You might want to look at Alfred State. They have a two-year CS program that’s geared for transferring, but they also have four-year programs you could pivot into (game design, applications software development, cybersecurity and more) if you decided you wanted to stay there for your bachelors. 75% of students live on campus, so it’s definitely not your typical two-year commuter-school experience. Median GPA for accepted students is 85 so it looks like a solid match, although CS may be more competitive. It seems to me like a great setup to have both transfer options and 4-year options available; if you love it there and feel like “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” you don’t have to leave; but the CS associate’s program is also focused on helping you to transfer successfully if you still want to.
