Hi all,
I am currently a junior at a dual enrollment high school in Oregon. I have been taking college classes full-time since this Fall, and I took classes part-time in the Spring and Summer (the latter was on my own time - it was not sponsored by the high school). I have mapped out all of the classes that I plan on taking until I graduate, which will be in June of 2021. I am in a position where I can graduate with an AAOT (Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer - not like it would be useful for this), AGS, and AA when I graduate high school. I would have 114 credits when I graduate (for reference, it takes 90 credits to get an AAOT). My question is: would it be a good idea to take all three degrees and apply as a transfer student, or should I just take the credit and apply as a freshman for Stanford? It is my absolute dream school so I want the best chance possible to get in! I’ve been reading some transfer student statistics and I saw that a student who was also dual enrollment (at Bard College at Simon’s Rock) was accepted, so now I’m curious as to whether or not having a diploma (or multiple ) as a recent high school grad looks better to the school.
For reference:
-I have a 4.13 GPA that is expected to rise as I take more college classes.
-My SAT score is 1420 (760 reading/writing and 660 math). I am scheduled to retake in March to increase my Math score and will take it again after if I am still not happy.
-I am involved in extracurriculars such as student government, my school’s robotics club, and other community involvement activities. I get about 20+ hours of volunteer work done every trimester.
-I have taken summer classes on my own time and dollar at the college to be able to get these credits and requirements.
-I have been an all-A student for my entire educational career and have made it onto the President’s List and Honor Roll (depending on how many credits I took that term that made me eligible) for all of my trimesters at the college.
-Yaddah yaddah yaddah…
I know that Stanford rates are incredibly low, but I want the best chance possible to get into my dream school! I visited the campus a few weeks ago and managed to fall more in love with it! Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
