I know it's early to ask this kind of thing, but more out of curiosity than anything else...does Harvard have an admit weekend? And if so, when is it and what kind of things go on?

Here's the campus paper's coverage of Prefrosh Weekend from last April:

it works for me

I guess something was just wrong with my browser...

I don't know when this year's admit weekend is, but I'd guess it would have to be a week earlier than last year's since Passover is in late April this year.

Last year, if I recall correctly, PreFrosh weekend was on 19-22 April. It was back-to-back with the Yale Bulldog Days, allowing cross-admits to attend both (DD attended both). I suspect that it will be the same this year.

This year, the visiting program is from Friday, April 25th to Sunday, April 27th. Some students opt to arrive early, on Thursday. During the admit weekend, students can sit in on classes (if you're here Thursday and/or Friday, or stay until Monday as some do), attend introductory meetings for various student groups, tour the campus, attend info sessions and different talks about the college, etc. Also there's usually an a capella jam for all the prefrosh, as well as lots of shows and parties to go to. It's a lot of fun (even students who are already here look forward to it), so those who are accepted should definitely make it a priority to go if it's at all feasible. :)

Wow, that'd be amazing if I could get accepted. April 26 is my birthday and that would be cool to be at Harvard for it.

thanks everyone. it's odd that harvard would have an admit weekend on the same days that stanford does!

There's almost always some overlap between colleges and their admit weekends. There's only four or five weekends between the 31st acceptance date and the May 1st commitment date, and given the number of top schools that share applicants some are bound to overlap. I had to choose between Harvard and Yale my year...
