ADMITS! What did you think about the $$?

My financial aid was great from Barnard! My mom was so excited.

My parents are actually going to end up paying less than my EFC for me to go. Is that unusual?

cecils15- my mail still hasnt come and my mom thinks that means im not in. did your mail come late too, but you still got in?

For those of you saying Barnard's EFC for your family was significantly higher than the EFC you calculated online, definitely call the Financial Aid office. Double check all the forms and make sure you entered each number correctly (i.e. no extra zeros). Barnard is supposed to meet 100% of need, so you have a right to ask where they think the additional $$ is coming from.

inspiration08-what do you mean by late? what time did ppl normally get it? i got my package on wed if that at all helps.

Bad-- Does Barnard guarantee to meet demonstrated need? On the CSS we should only ahve to pay 33k but we didn't get offered a PENNY for Financial Aid... thus I can't go.

Does anyone know if I can appeal that? My dad owns a business and we had to send in his business info, but he can't sell his equipment to pay for my education... without bulldozers his company stops.

Definitely call and ask. Barnard's supposed to meet 100% of your need. However, their calculations can be different. Gather all your financial information together, including the exact EFC that the CSS and FAFSA listed. Also check your CSS and FAFSA and make sure you entered all the numbers correctly. A stray zero can do a lot of damage.
