Admitted students-anyone with a SAT score below 2250?

I am shocked that I got into Stanford.

My SAT I total was 2020.

I got in with a 2130. International needing finaid.

1980 waitlisted?
doesn't help that much

maybe thats WHY I'm waitlisted 0_o

SATs aren't not that important, especially not as much as people make them out to be on College Confidential. Trust me on this one. I was accepted with an average SAT score..and no SAT II's.

hksangha is right- they're not. It's the "whole person" they look at, although academics and test scores are weighted the most in the selection process.

they're not that important yet they're weight the most. lol

Your grades throughout high school matter a lot, your ECs matter quite a bit, your SAT scores don't matter nearly as much as people here seem to think. The good news it that you don't need a 2400 to get in, the bad news is that a 2400 in itself isn't enough to get you in.

me!!! 2220 is my highest in a single setting

2250 combined highest. so not sure if i qualify under here, please be nice to me...

2060 Here.

2230 all on one sitting. Only took ACT once and got a 35.
Cr750
M 750
W 730

800's on both SatII Bio and Chem, 780 on US Hist

2110 here.

ok like maybe im dumb or sumtin but i got in to 7 colleges with a 1380

I got into Stanford (and Cornell and Berkeley) with only a 2050.

If it's not stats, where does Stanford place its emphasis for admissions? Essays? Because I don't really believe my essays were THAT GREAT...I mean, I thought they were "okay" but not breathtaking.

^It's the overall vibe that your application gives...how boring or exciting you are, how dedicated you are, etc. I guess that's mainly essays, also extracurriculars. SAT isn't everything...it's more like how well you can study for a certain test and yes there is a way to study for the SAT like the grammar part there are only 6 or so rules they test for, etc. and the AO probably knows that

Looking at my acceptance, I can say that Stanford values extracurriculars a lot.
