Admitted students-anyone with a SAT score below 2250?

If so, what are your stats?

An Asian girl from my school got in early with <2100. I don't really know too much more about her stats, but I was totally stoked for her.

Plenty of people get in with below a 2250.

2250 is about their average SAT, so roughly half will get in with an SAT below 2250...

Me.
Got in with a 2160 (800M 700CR 660W) on the other hand I heard that last year they might not have been considering the writing section which raises my grade to 1500 (old SAT standard).

I had a 2200 and got rejected early decision.

Me. 2230.

(10 characters.)

Foil, that's only true if that's their median SAT score, not their average :P

On the other hand, since I couldn't find any numbers on median OR average when I looked, I'll assume you were accurate as to that being the average number (not the median), and slightly correct your statement: a slight majority (60% maybe?) probably have over 2250, taking into account the athletes and others with remarkably low SATs.

The lowest SAT score from my school (math and verbal only) was a 1380. (That's in '04, '05 and '06 admits).

SATs are important, but as long as they're reasonably high I think it's other things that really make the difference for Stanford.

This is reassuring, guys. Thanks much!

i know someone with <2100 that got in

ha... you would pick my SAT score just to scare me wouldn't you

I had a 2160 and was accepted early (800 M 710 CR 650 W)

I got in early with a 2060 (630CR, 690M, 740W).

What is a good SAT score for Stanford?

Maybe a 2200 or so.
Does stanford look at SAT scores or do they heavy the extracurriculurs more?
And finally, do minorities have a better chance of getting in?

I got a 2220 and just got accepted to Stanford.

My brother has a 2110 and got in to Stanford too.

We are both Asian.

1) Shoot for about 750 in each section to be safe

2) Class Rank and GPA and SAT get you in the door, extracirrculars and essays get you in

3) Of course

can you guys post your other stats?

you can search it easily
