Are you located in so cal?
The Welcome Receptions are directly above the Campus Events. After you click on the link it allows you to reserve seats for up to 2 people.
I think you should email them for more information. Maybe they'll let you reserve seats over the phone or email since it's not available under "events" for you.

About this Event:

As a new transfer student you are faced with unique opportunities and numerous choices. This reception will present an introduction to academic support programs, and feature transfer-friendly staff and current Cal students to answer questions. Student ambassadors will speak of their own experiences. Many participated in faculty-mentored undergraduate research programs, educational study abroad, career internships, volunteer community service activities and/or student leadership opportunities. Campus staff will be available from the Financial Aid Office, Career Center, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, College Advising, Residential and Student Service Programs, Academic Achievement Programs and the Center for Transfer, Re-entry and Student Parents.

If you have additional questions contact Yanny Chavarria at socaloffice@berkeley.edu, voice: (909) 625-7418

ok thanks alot. I called the number and no one knows why that link does not exist on my myberkeleyapp... but the nice lady did register me for the LAX reception, so I guess everything worked out. Thanks again.

Oh, good.....it worked out. I wonder why I received the Financial Aid notification before the acceptance letter and yet haven't heard a thing from UCLA, except an invite to a Transfer Scholar's Day. lol

May10th is just way too soon!!! Do you think there will be any other opportunities after May? I mean, don't they know we're still in school?

I know, I wish it was later too, but people have to submit their SIRs by June 1, so theres not much point in scheduling accepted student receptions after then. Plus, CalSo starts in early June. You could always just go up there and take a tour of the campus or something. Thats what made me want to go there.

I wouldn't want to spend the money actually.....lol. I'm just a poor college student.....

Yeah my link doesn't show up either for Transfer Day but oh well I'm not planning on going anyways...

I didn't post this yet, so I'm doing it now... I have been admitted to Berkeley!

Did you all receive your admission envelope? I really like the letter they sent in addition to the admission letter.

i thought the little certificate thing was cliche, but i did like the velcro flaps. call me chris lowell.

Aside from the dorms and apartment,
is anyone looking into living at a co-op?
it seems like such a great deal!

http://www.usca.org/

It looks great.....but a really cramped situation. I read about food and frankly I can walk out with $75 dollars worth of groceries for $15 with a card and coupons....so I know that buying in bulk is rarely the cheaper alternative for food....

when do we start registering for classes?SS?seS?eS?e?

yeah...but for $5000 less a year, it really really looks like a good deal right now.

is that so? I hadn't seen the rates....that is a sizeable difference. I'm definitely not a vegan though.....you can't be both a foodie and a vegetarian, thank God. ;)

yep.

for dorms, it'll cost around $11,000 for a double, plus 2 meals i think.
for the co-op...i think its $2913 a sem, so around $6000 altogether...$5000 difference , very appealing indeed! :P

Anyone apply to International House?

Hey you guys! I will probably live on-campus and was wondering if anyone knew whether we supply our own sheets/ bedding for the extra long twin beds?
I'm thought that we do but when I signed up for Calso, it said that they supply sheets/bedding (I signed up for overnight).

So I'm wondering if I should stock up on sheets for the coming year or not....
