Admitted to Berkeley

my gosh.....the housing is over 847 dollars? lol Are they serious? I guess they are....lovely, supply and demand at work.

I spent an hour or so looking at housing.....are they serious? 847 dollars, and that's without a meal plan? Oh, I've got to think this over.....lol

Damn guys you are crazy. I'm absolutely torn up between taking the high school proficiency exam or finishing high school. I'm taking classes while attending high school right now, and I think that if I make a commitment to graduate high school, that it will show commitment, and it will be something i can write about on my admissions essay.

The reason for me staying is simply because I enjoy high school, the people there are awesome and I'm involved in some amazing classes. But, I promised myself that if college ever overlaps highschool, that i would take the proficiency exam and leave.

I was in the same position a couple years ago, HeavyMetalG0d, and I chose to go the proficiency exam route. In all honesty, I think it's the best decision if you're doing poorly in high school.

eck...this is annoying, i cant get my calnet password or whatever to activate, and im dying to see the financial aid!!

i am in too...3.8 for cs
so what!?i still feel sad because ucla rejects me...

hey when does cal start?
and when do we get to start registering for classes?

i took high school proficiency... and i got into UCLA and CAL after 2 years... in all honesty, if i had taken it when i was 16(when i actually stopped going to school) i would have met up with my original class at college... but as a junior when they were freshmen. its a great way to skip high school which i found to be completely worthless because you do relearn everything in college. high school is more about the social scene than anything else.

I got in to Berkeley as well. As I read the acceptance letter, I got an adrenaline rush - the kind that mix panic and joy to create felicific fear. It's going to take hard f-ing work to succeed at B.

My stats:

3.35 GPA
English (Literature) Major
156 CC trans. units - Yes, one hundred fifty-six
4.0 in 11 courses in major
4/5 pre-reqs done, 1 in progress
Zero Extra-curriculars

Congrats to fellow admits.

Angela

Writing well....a 3.35 GPA? Doesn't anyone have something to say about that? Ok, I do. I guess I don't feel so bad thinking that I got in for some extenuating circumsstances....lol

I'm an English mjor as well...congrats!

Housing still has got me in a choke-hold....unless I get a boatload of grants and scholarships....which doesn't seem likely...I'm off to UCLA.

how do i check for my financial aid for berkeley? i'm unable to activate my CalNet ID....do i need to sign the SIR before i can activate my CalNet ID?

^that doesnt work..i just signed my SIR and still cant do it.

writingwell:

i've visited the campus many times, which is why i love it there so much. My brother graduated from there so I got a feel of it, and i have some friends that go there as well!

Damnit, I cant make it to that May 14 reception thing. Do you guys think its really that important?

I'm in for Econ

G.P.A.: 3.74

I was rejected from LA. Go bears!

I don't think May 14th will be that big of a deal.. I think we should go to the orientation thing over the summer though. I can't believe my Calnet ID doesn't work!!! It says something like my number doesn't exist or something!!! Are you guys all planning on living in Unit 3?

Oh look what I found!

"SCHEDULE of CALNET STUDENT DATA FEEDS

Student data for 'Incoming FALL Undergraduates' will be loaded into the CalNet Directory a few days after the 'Statement of Intent to Register' form has been submitted. "

So I guess that's why it doesn't work.
