Hello!
I was just recently provisionally admitted into sdsu for engineering as a transfer student, I’m very excited and hope I’m completely admitted.
I believe I reported all my info correctly on the application, but…
The question that I have is that while I know I presented all the courses that I’m currently taking correctly on my application, my gpa was exceedingly difficult to calculate because I’ve attended 3 separate schools for an extended amount of time, one of which is out of state, making things difficult to determine which classes transfer and which do not, even with a counsellor…
My self reported gpa was a 2.9, but what if things are to go askew and they calculate it differently?
How much buffer space do you generally get in terms of calculating your gpa until they just revoke your app completely?
Thanks!!
If you’ve been provisionally admitted, that means SDSU did its own GPA calculation and accepted you. As long as you do well in your current classes, you should be OK.
@katliamom oh okay, so they calculated the gpa from my golden four and classes that I reported to taken last semester? So relieving thank you…
That is how it usually works: they look at the transcripts you sent and your gpa – if they need to, they do their own calculations
@katliamom Well I havent sent in my transcripts yet, thats the thing… I’ve only filled out supplemental application and self reported gpa
Well, if there IS a sizable discrepancy between your transcript GPA and your reported GPA, you may have an issue. Save yourself some worry, and simply call admissions. Odds are, you’re overthinking this!
@katliamom yeah, I reported a gpa of a 2.9 and I believe the actual calculation should have been a 2.82, I cannot figure out where I went wrong though!
