Admitted to SUNY University at Buffalo, but Program acceptance was never specified

Hey I am wondering if any of you would know. I got an email of my application status being updated to accepted for the SUNY university at Buffalo. However it didn’t say that I was accepted to the program I choose. Will this info be in the package the send our does this information come in separate from being accepted to UB. I’m concerned please help me out. UB is my #1 choice and I really want to be accepted into their architecture program.

The university initially accepts you, then the individual programs review and make their decisions seperately. This decision is communicated January - March. If you don’t get into your program you can still take a concentration in that area and reapply after freshman year. I called admissions and asked because I was wondering the same thing.

Check the MyUB portal and click Student Center. I noticed under “Admissions” towards the bottom of the page it says: , “Management Bachelor” and there’s a green circle which the key above says “Complete.” I take that to mean the business major request on the application was approved. Am I wrong?

Thanks that’s great to know

When did you get your credentials? I got the admitted packet and it said I’d receive them soon, but it’s been like a month and they haven’t come (UBITName/one-time password).

There was a letter that came with log in credentials prior to receiving the actual big welcome packet. Do you have your UB personal number? That’s all you need. If not, maybe just call the school and get it.

I called and logged in, thanks. Does “Engnr & Appl Sci Bachelor - Completed” mean I got in as a Computer Science major if that’s what I selected when applying? Also, when I checked it said I have no awards. Does that mean I won’t get any?

I think that green circle and the word completed means you’re in. And based on the UB web site, it says you’re in to whatever you declared on application. But yet others here said each department makes that decision independently.

So I’m not sure. I say you call and ask, then report back

Last years freshman applicants didn’t get their UB Number till the first part of February. You can’t put a deposit down until you have the UB number. My advice is if you know you are going to go to UB then as soon as you get the UB Number put a deposit down. The dorming is done by the date of your deposit with early deposits getting done first. Could be the difference between being on North or South Campus.
