Hey, I've known since 9:59am this morning....Congratulations to all those who found recently! To the rest of us...it's old news. ;-)

Just kidding....I can't believe that I won't have to pay for anything....everything was grants apparently. It does pay to be a poor college student..

Heck, I didn't even have to pay the SIR deposit...lol. This has been an amazing day!

question - is it at all possible that UCLA is taking longer to release my decision because of my financial aid status? i've only sent my FAFSA corrections last week and only got my parents' signature earlier today. just wondering; i know it's a looong shot.

OKAY i have to post again cuz I still can't believe it!! Sorry guys but i did horrible in HS and I never thought I could get into a school like UCLA...but I did work really hard and wow this feels great!!! okay this is the last time I'm going to post haha bye

Yeah I've gotta agree, I think all of us are somewhat shocked that we got in. In reality we all had exceptionally good stats, but we had it hammered into our brains that nothing is ever a sure thing at UCLA.

I sent my FAFSA corrections last week also but all signatures were electronic. I was accepted today and even had access to my financial aid award letter immediately. You should call the financial aid dept to see if it's holding anything up.

Biochemist, how sweet! Thank you very much.

It's just provisional, of couse. Ugh, I hate that word, but today has been one surprise after another, so actually getting the "Provisional award would be quite a blessing....to say the least. We'll keep hoping...

I am not one to toot my own horn...but I am not shocked -- I earned it!

Seriously...I worked my ass off to get the GPA I have and to satisfy IGETC. And I didn't take pansy courses either...well, there was that one music course..but I had to take that one. ;)

The way I look at it, I deserve to go to a top notch school like UCLA. And if I didn't make it in I would have done well elsewhere. there are many students that deserve to get in to UCLA and did not. I just happened to be one of the fortunate ones for whatever reason beyond the numbers.

Chances are, FAO at UCLA has already prepared a preliminary award letter for you, but you won't have access to it until you are admitted. I tried to log on to their FAO site and it said I must already be admitted to create a student login.
It couldn't hurt to call, but i don't think they could give you a dollar amount over the phone.

The SIR deposit was waived for some on financial aid? Did you only find that out when you were submitting your SIR or was it explained to you somehow beforehand?

Writingwell.....yes, it say at the beginning "you may be required to submit a deposit" and when I got to that step it said that I didn't......so it all worked out.

geexer I got close to the same stats you have, poli sci, 3.45 all honors, from Pasadena City College and Mission. Have you thought about what emphasis you'll do?
