Adobe Creative Suite 4

Hi guys!

This may sound like a stupid question, but I really don't know much about Adobe Products. This semester I took a web design class where we use Web Expression to create a website, and that is where I was introduce about all these adobe products.

So, I have heard that it is very expensive, but I really need it for classes that I sign up in summer and fall. So, while browsingthe internet looking for cheap adobe photoshop, I was really suprise to see this in amazon:

Amazon.com: Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium Student Edition: Software

Can anyone please tell me if Creative Suite 4 really includes:

Adobe InDesign CS4
Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended
Adobe Illustrator CS4
Adobe Flash CS4 Professional
Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
Adobe Fireworks CS4
Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

all these for $389? How come it is cheaper than in JourneyEd where it cost almost $600 or AcademicSuperStore?

I really need advice if I should buy this or not.

There are always huge discounts for students. The technology store at my University sells the Design Suite CS4 for about the same price.

These should be included with CS4 Design Premium:
* InDesign CS4
* Photoshop CS4 Extended
* Illustrator CS4
* Flash CS4 Professional
* Dreamweaver CS4
* Fireworks CS4
* Acrobat 9 Pro
* Adobe Bridge CS4
* Adobe Device Central CS4
* Version Cue CS4

But there are other bundles available – you might find the web bundle more suitable since you might not find a use for Indesign, and you can save yourself some money that way.

Here’s a link to the Adobe store for college and university students (Note that they have a different store for K-12 students and teachers.)
https://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/store/index.cfm?store=OLS-EDU&view=ols_cat&catType=STUDENTS&catID=STUDENTS&#view=ols_cat&catID=STUDENTS&store=OLS-EDU&loc=en_us

Thanks Mrs Weasley, the link is very helpful. Save me lots of money. This would mean I don’t need to go to the computer lab in order to do my work too.
Again, thank you.

Creative Suite 3 included all the CS3 versions of those programs, so I’m guessing it should be the same with CS4.

C_EE, CS3 Design Premium didn’t include Fireworks–at least mine didn’t! With all the different bundle configurations, it’s worth paying close attention to which programs are in which bundle.

It is a huge discount. Just so you know…if you order from adobe with the student discount you have to prove that you are a student before they complete the sale. They were a lot more thorough than I expected.

PA MOM, I don’t think that would be a problem, but maybe I am wrong.
I may not buy it now. I think I will wait till summer session starts, just in case my prof tells us we can get it for cheap at some place. Besides, I got most of my software for free in my school like for example, web expression, vb studio, microsoft office, C++, most of the programming language. But I guess, Adobe is different.

Here is the info regarding the student discount :

[Adobe - Eligibility for Student Editions](http://www.adobe.com/ap/education/students/studentedition/eligibility.html)

I looked around a lot and the $390 or so price was the best I could find. If you can find a better deal that’s great!

nutridame, Adobe will want a photocopy of your student ID card to demonstrate that you are a current student. My kids have never had a problem with it, and they’ve had to provide the same type of proof for discounts from Academic Superstore and similar online student discount shops as well. It’s pretty standard for the student discount, I think.
