Ads on this site really annoying

I installed adblock and the PR ad disappeared.

It looks like the “New Discussion” button is on every page. The difference is that when it is clicked in a forum, it posts to that forum. But if you click it on the home page or the latest posts page, you also need to select a forum from a drop down. So I anticipate the mods will be moving a lot of threads.

Every thread I go on takes me to the first post, then I have to figure out what is unread. How do I fix this?

I’m not having that issue. It brings me to the first unread post. Although I have to say it is harder to immediately figure out which threads I’ve read before (X new in a box) versus the threads I’ve never read (which simply say “new” in a box)

For those of you who don’t mind switching browsers, Brave has a built in ad blocker which blocks all ads including that ridiculous video. The downside is even more whitespace. Can’t say I like this update but I am aware that we are being provided this service for free. @CCadmin_Sorin - for your feedback, I don’t mind a few ads as I know they are a source of revenue generation and again, since this is all free I completely understand and am fine with their use but the video is too much. Way too distracting…

I am logged in and the ads are still there. It’s the video and constant movement that is actually hurting my eyes/head. I had to hit “stop” on the video each time I change a field. Administrators please change this ASAP.

Yes, the video in the upper right corner is EXTREMELY annoying. There needs to be a way to get rid of it. I try to pause it to stop the distracting motion, but everytime I switch to a different discussion, it starts up again. I don’t need to see the same loop of videos over and over and over…

I have only been looking for 5 min but the bright screen and the PR ad is really making me crazy, as is the double spacing on this comment and the fact that I can no longer easily see what I haven’t read.

“There needs to be a way to get rid of it.”
AS others have stated, install AdBlock and / or AdBlock Ultimate add on extensions onto your Browser, and the ads will go away. I use both and NEVER see ads or videos online.
Try using Firefox browsers on your computers and hand held devices. They make it very easy to add on extensions.

The video in the upper right corner is giving me a headache. Goodbye CC.
