My search continues to find something that I would really like to do. I last posted about possibly doing architectural engineering, and now my thoughts are moving towards starting a contract software company, since I essentially did a CS minor in college.

I have actually had serious thoughts about becoming an entrepreneur. My parents own a few successful companies, and after seeing The Apprentice combined with seeing the freedoms and luxuries my family enjoys, although I do know that they have had to struggle long and hard to get to where they are at. I think I am willing to do that if it means I will be financially secure in middle age and at retirement.

Anyways, I am interested in the software contracting company because I think it is something that could interest me. My computer programming education is similar to some computer engineering majors, since I minored in computers, which included computer programming. I am also thinking about taking over my family company and expanding it. Is there any advice, books, or websites I can go to to find information on how to start a small company like this, taking contract work?
