Advanced PE 1

Yep that's what they call my gym class this year. I'm getting pumped for some rousing games of pickleball, rock climbing, and pilo polo come january...my school doesn't like real sports so much as nonsense activities. How about yours?

we just have regular P.E. kinda sucks since we only have a year of it. if only they had it in AP ha

rock climbing? sweet

We have like 8 different PE classes. Team Sports, Racket Sports, Weight Training, Basketball, Volleyball, Conditioning, and Sports Medicine (counts as PE credit).

AP PE would be an awesome class though. Something like 10 mile daily runs, plus two hours weightlifting, and an hour each of basketball and soccer sounds challenging enough for an AP course. They could have like a four hour long physical fitness test too instead of an AP test at the end of the year. And colleges could use your AP scores to compare against your ecs. Like if you got a 1 on the test and claim to be captain of three sports, they could tell your lying. I would definitely take that class.

haha and the NBA and NFL would recruit high school students based on their score.

we're required to take gym every year of high school. and the rock climbing isnt too sweet because its just the indoor rock climbing in the gym. we do have the presidents fitness challenge, while not 4 hours, it still measures your fitness and gives you scores/percentiles.

Our PE consists of either sitting around in gym clothes or walking laps on the track (no running, ever). Yeah. I would adore rock climbing.

What sucks is that they make us lock our bookbags up so that we can't do homework or get anything done whatsoever. We literally just sit there. Raaargh, I hate PE.

I remember that. When I was in 4th grade I was one of the super awesome kids. (like one of the top in my school) I could jump 6 ft from a stand still. I was like four feet tall haha. I could jump further than my gym teacher hahah. I held a school record in the shuttle run. I was sorta chunky too. haha.

We have PE two days a week. We start the year on the President's Fitness Challenge, and then we do a module. The options for modules are usually either tennis, ballsports, basketball/football, and weight room. I always choose weight room though.

I hated PE! My school is ghetto. The lockers are absolutely disgusting - they should've been left with the debris that was cleaned out in the 1970's.

Now, I don't mind exercising - I play sports and what not. I remember having a swimming segment in which the shower tiles were filled with dirt and mold and the showers didn't work and oh gawd... horrible! I smelt like chlorine for weeks!! :(

At any rate, I love pickleball!

my school has a lot of different gym classes but the main ones are
individual and lifetime sports - golf/badmiton/rollerblading/mountain biking/ yoga
rec team - group sports
water safety instructor - swim w/ 4th graders
lifeguarding

wow

we have a load of different P.E. classes to choose one. you're only required to take a half of year of P.E.

I chose basketball

i LOVE PE!! It's compulsory for all years except for seniors. And that sucks because I want to take PE next year but I can't because I'd have to drop one of my subjects (and I dont really want to drop any).

Our year long classes consists of:
-golf
-weightlifting
-track and field
-water saftey (we get to go to the beach and stuff)
-dodgeball
-soccer
-rugby
-american football
-lacrosse
-ultimate frisbee
-basketball (i hate i hate)
-aerobics (we design our own routine and stuff)
-and fun weird games that teachers make up

We have regular sports education, which is like the standard PE class, and then if you are dirty enough you can sign up for Senior Sports Ed, with the recommendation of a gym teacher. You play football and badmitton and stuff but it's ridiculously intense and people often get injured or go into their next class bleeding and with a black eye and stuff.

so it's like 'honors' p.e.? that's pretty nifty :D
