<p>If you have an interesting story about adapting to the US, it can make your essays look good. But just having the citizenship won’t really matter at all.</p>
<p>I would think that it doesn’t matter whether you have U.S. citizenship or not, as long as you count as a permanent resident, not an international student.</p>
