Early registration, smaller classes, get to graduate with honors. It doesnt have some of the benefits of other schools' honors program like honors living communities, but its still worth your while. I needed to get a 3.5 this semester to qualify for honors, and got a 3.4 :( i was really hopping to be able to sign up for a couple honors classes, because all my classes last semester were in huge lecture halls with between 100-500 people.

Not as good, but nearly. The difference in Eng. Honors between the two schools is close enough I'd pick based upon which school you felt most comfortable living with.

I went to UT's Electrical Engineering program for my MSEE back in the 80s...and I see my old profs are STILL there...and frankly, I wasn't all that impressed with them...particularly Baxter Womack...geez, the guy can drone on and on and say absolutely nothing.

An interesting thing I learned from a TAMU Financial Aid Officer today was that Honors students get first choice of classes along with the seniors and athletes. Even if you don't take any honors classes for the respective semester, you can still pick your class before most other students. At a large school like A&M that's pretty cool.
