are there advantages to self-studying senior year?
thinking about majoring in engineering and minoring in political science in college, and i'm considering taking the AP US Gov exam. do you think that the possibility for credit in one class will be worth it?

It might be overlooked completely since it's your minor.

You also have to consider your ability (or more accurately, your desire to go on with) self studying. Do you think you can combat senioritis enough to score well on the exam? It is your final year of high school after all.

the main thing that would be worth self studying for, bauer, is that it prepares you for taking your education in your own hands in college. The AP US Gov will be good. Also consider self-studying an intensive science course, i.e. Physics C (may be too late to do both)

Self studying may or may not play an important role, but however, telling colleges that you are going to self study AP Exams is a way of saying that you are not going to slack off Senior Year, remember, your strength of the Senior academic program(courses and exams) also determines your admission chances.

If you believe you have a reasonable ability to meet your school (schools? Check with all schools you are applying to) required score for credit, then sure, it is worth it. Go ahead.
